Opening day is finally here!!! I am looking forward to sharing my martial art's knowledge with all of you as we all continue on our journey as martial artists.

On another note, Congratulations to Sensei Tony Bennett on his promotion to San Dan yesterday. I was there for the exam and I can proudly say that he is in every sense of the word a Sensei. I am looking forward to cross training with his school in the future. I think it is valuable for students to dabble in other styles of the art as well so that they can be well rounded in their self-defense techniques.

We have set the date for the Grand Opening Event for May 6, 2006. The Kickin for Kids Kick A Thon fundraiser for St. Judes Children's Research Hospital will be held at Bouchard's Karate Academy. 100% of the proceeds will benefit the hospital. There will be wonderful prizes for the participants and everyone who participates will receive a certificate from St. Jude's. Join us for this wonderful event. It will be a lot of fun and hopefully we will raise a lot of money for a Great cause. Let's show St. Judes how Maine people can come together and Kick cancer. Please contact Donna at

Just over a week to go before we open the doors for the first time. Already 20 students signed on and we are ready to go. On February 10th I was at Madison Avenue School in Oxford to perform 3 Anti-Bully Seminars. News Channel 6 was there to film the story and it should be airing soon, so keep your eyes peeled. Please let friends and family know that they can come and try out free Karate lessons for a week. Also members of Personal Best Health Club will receive a 10% discount off of student tuition. Don't wait until the 1st to call, you can sign up at any time.

Things are starting to fall into place. Our class schedule starting 3/1/06 will be as follows.
Adults ages 13 and up: Mon & Wed 6:45 pm to 7:45pm.
Children ages 6-12 Thursday 6:00 Pm to 7:00 Pm,Saturday 9:30 am to 10:30 am.
Adults and Children Self defense: 10:30 to 11:30

Welcome to Bouchard's Karate Academy
Our official start up date is scheduled for March 1, 2006 at Personal Best Health Club 141 Western Ave. South Paris Me 04281
Our school prides itself on being a family oriented Karate school where the empasis is on having fun while learning valuable self defense and personal improvement skills. The teacher has trained in multiple styles of martial arts and continues to train with her teacher on a regular basis so as to offer a virtual endless curriculum of martial arts techniques and skills.

Our students will learn a traditional Okinawan Kenpo style of Karate as well as street style self defense and judo style grappleing skills. Sempai Bouchard's teacher has trained with well known people such as the Gracies and Tony Blauer. Shihan Pelletier is a 6th degree black belt in Okinawan Kenpo and continues to study under Kyoshi Marcus Devalentino, thus offering Sempai Bouchard a valuable stream of resources to ensure that the students of Bouchard's Karate Academy will continue to have top notch training.

As part of our Grand opening celebrations we will be holding a Kick A thon fundraiser with all proceeds going to St. Judes Childrens Research. It is important that students participate in community service projects such as this to aid in character building skills as part of the Black Belt Attitude.
